My name is Edgar Peter Mwera, a public servant at the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP) from July, 2023 to present. I have been employed as an assistant lecturer since March, 2014 at the Institute of Adult Education (IAE) to lecture accounting and finance courses up NTA Level 8 (Bachelor students). I have long standing history in teaching International finance, financial accounting, auditing and assurance, management and cost accounting, financial management, investment portfolio management, business management and conducting case studies on challenges facing SMEs on access loans from Micro-finance institutions and I participated in seminars, conferences and special tasks conducted by National Board of Accountants and Auditors.
I hold a Master degree in Business Administration majoring in Finance from Saint Augustine University of Tanzania (2010-2012), Certified Public Accountant from National Board of Accountants and Auditors (2010-2012) and Bachelor of Art in Accounting and Finance from Moshi University College of Cooperative and Business Studies (2007-2010). Before graduating my master degree, I conducted research on the Factors leading Late Loans Repayment from Members of Saving and Credit Cooperative Societies in Tanzania using both quantitative and descriptive research design. The study recommends reducing number conditions that tie on accessing loan, formation of small groups of members to be easily financed, invest in the income generating activities to gain profit for easy loans recovery.
My main research and academic interests are in rural finance challenges and current practices to Small scale Farmers in Dodoma Rural Areas, challenges facing small business owners in Micro credit/finance management, investment and equity portfolio management, Taxation burden effects on small scale business doers, Effects of Government Budget Decisions on small business operators in Dodoma City, Challenges on adaptation of IFRS and IPSAS on Public Sector Accounting Reports preparation.
