Work Experience

Barikiel Panga (MSc. Official Statistics) works as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Population Studies at Institute of Rural Development Planning Lake Zone Centre, Mwanza. He is a Statistician and Data scientist with 7+ years of experience as a statistician, researcher, trainer and consultant in various fields including health and agriculture. He has worked with private, government and education institutions.

• Processing and analysis of social, demographic and economic data. Also, effective in writing and presenting the complex scientific research results in a clear and brief manner.

• Designing online mobile data collection forms using most current technologies, i.e., Survey Solutions and Open Data Kit (ODK).
• Experienced in the use and applications of statistical packages such as SPSS, STATA, R-Statistical Software and basics in Python programming for data mining and perform complex statistical analysis, such as Regressions.

• Labelling and Annotating data for Machine Learning purposes.

Research and academic Interests

Main research and academic interest are on safest, cheapest and timeless provision of health services in all area as well as good and quality improved agricultural practices to increase productivity and income of small holder’s farmers.
