Work Experience

Stellah is employed as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Population Studies at the Institute of Rural Development Planning (IRDP). With over 14 years of experience, she is a experienced community development expert proficient in research, training, and consulting within various areas such as gender based violence (GBV), reproductive health, gender and sexuality,  social enterprises, women's empowerment, energy poverty, community-based organizations (CBOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), civil society organizations, ethnography, and social impact assessment for Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) projects.


Professional Skills

  • Extensive knowledge and experience in gender and development, social risks, social due diligence (SDD), social baseline surveys, social development planning, and service delivery.
  • Profound expertise in policy planning, design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Extensive experience in grievance redress mechanisms, scoping of social impact assessments, and social impact assessments for ESIA.
  • Proficient in utilizing Gender Action and Inclusion Plans, Social & Environmental (CESE) Management Tools such as Community Engagement Framework, Resettlement Policy Framework, and Environmental and Social Management Framework.
  • Skilled in conducting and designing willingness-to-pay surveys and community engagement tools for data collection.
  • Skilled in ddesigning online mobile data collection platforms using most current technologies, i.e. Survey Solutions and Kobo tool box.
  • Experienced in the utilization and application of statistical packages such as SPSS, Stata, and R-Statistical Software for data mining and performing complex statistical analyses.


Research and academic Interests

Main research and academic interest is on Ageing and Health, Social policy, Gender related matters such as women's reproductive health, gender disparities and health risks, Family dynamics, Support systems for the elderly, and the health of rural elderly population in Tanzania.
