Agricultural economist
Dr Yohana James Mgale is an experienced agricultural economist, researcher and trainer with over 13 years of professional experience in different non-governmental and governmental organizations. Currently, he is working as a lecturer and Director of Academic Support Services at the Institute of Rural Development Planning. He also worked with INADES Formation Tanzania for two years as a project coordinator coordinating the farmer enterprise development project. He also worked with ACCESS Bank Tanzania as a loan officer for a year. Dr. Mgale has also coordinated and supervised several research projects both with national and international clients. The skills acquired over the years have given him extensive working experience with various stakeholders.
Dr. Mgale is an experienced researcher with interests in agricultural development and policy, agricultural market analysis, trade and price analysis, cost-benefit analysis, consumer behavior, agricultural production economics, rural entrepreneurship and small business management, and agricultural technology adoption studies. He has also published more than 30 articles in the field of agricultural economics and agribusiness, accessible via Researchgate. In addition, Dr. Mgale has a wealth of experience in quantitative research, econometric analysis, survey methods and techniques, and management of large-scale research projects. He has also supervised a number of research with undergraduate and graduate students.
