Work Experience

Emmanuel Simon Mwang’onda works as an Economics Lecturer in the Department of Rural Development and Regional Planning of the Institute of Rural Development Planning Dodoma -Tanzania and a PhD Researcher at Stellenbosch Business School, Western Cape – South Africa. He is an Economist with 10+ years of experience as a researcher, trainer and consultant in various fields including Development Evaluation, Rural Development and Inclusive Growth, Behavioural studies, Health and Environmental Economics, and financial inclusion.

Professional Skills

• Economic research and analysis – with extensive experience in conducting economic research across various domains including Rural development, social and behavioural science, health economics and environmental economics.
• Proficiency in utilising analytical software such as Atlas.ti, STATA and SPSS for data analysis and interpretations
• Experience in designing and delivering training programs in economic and related fields including community engagement, community mobilization, and monitoring and evaluating development.
• Consultancy expertise spans diverse areas such as land tenure, digital solutions in the agriculture sector, Strategic planning, and socio-economic and investment profile development.
• Project management – Ability to coordinate interdisciplinary teams, organise and supervise field work, and convey complex economic concepts to diverse audiences.

The main research and academic interests are carbon pricing and carbon markets, just transition, rural development, inclusive growth, financial development, industrial development, financial inclusion and inequality.
