..Dr. Godrich Ibrahim Mnyone is a Senior Lecturer teaching in the Department of Environmental Planning of the Institute of Rural Development Planning. He is a registered Town Planner. He has been teaching, carrying out research and consultancy for more than 20 years.

Professional Skills

• Adequate knowledge and skills in the use of professional software such as Quantum GIS, ArcGIS, ArcView, the Integrated Land and Water Information System (ILWIS), and spatial data collection tools namely Google Earth and Global Posing System (GPS for spatial analysis
• Modelling sloping and flat terrains for preparation of digital elevation models
• Adequate knowledge, skills and wide experience in sites, neighbourhoods and master plans preparation, implementation, monitoring and evaluation
• Wide experience in land conflict resolutions
• Adequate knowledge in remote sensing data acquisition, processing, and use in both urban and rural human settlements planning and management.
• Experienced in the use and applications of statistical and spatial data analysis computer software for infrastructure planning (roads, railways, airports, water sources, water distribution pipes and vulnerability assessment).

Research and academic Interests

Research and Academic Interests of Dr. Godrich Ibrahim Mnyone include use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in participatory land use, site, neighbourhood, town and village master planning, transport planning, housing, and informal human settlements regularization and climate change adaptation and mitigation in urban and rural areas.
